Welcome to Fredonia Hillel

Hillel is an international Jewish campus organization represented in over 550 colleges and universities across North America, and hundreds more around the world. Its mission is to enrich the Jewish identity to all college students by providing cultural, religious, artistic and community-service activities.

At the State University of New York at Fredonia,

All students regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability/disability are greatly welcome and encouraged to join and/or attend any of our meetings and events.

Fredonia Hillel as a whole is not a religious group, however we observe particular Jewish holy days and Shabbat for cultural purposes as well as visiting Temple Beth-El Synagogue in Dunkirk, NY. Our primary focus is to promote and educate more fully about the Jewish ethnicity and the customs, values, and history to the ethnicity.

Hillel is one of 15 cultural student organizations within the Intercultural Center (IC), formerly known as the Center for Multicultural Affairs (CMA).

How to join Fredonia Hillel:

Students interested in joining Hillel can do so by finding our table at Activities Night, August 30th, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30 in Dods Grove (outside of Steele Hall). If it rains, it will be located inside Steele Hall.

Signing up for Hillel means you will be receiving our emails telling about general body meetings (GBs) and upcoming events. Any students who has not signed up at activities night is still very welcome to attend our GBs. Signing up for Hillel and most clubs at SUNY Fredonia does not entail needing to be committed to a club, which is something incoming freshmen question.

For those who haven't signed up for Hillel at activities night, and would like to join email sunyfredoniahillel@gmail.com. Where you can receive emails for GBs and upcoming events. All students are welcome to attend even if you aren't signed up.

Since Hillel is part of the Intercultural Center (IC), we are committed to be an open and inclusive organization to all students interested in Jewish culture.
